The App Store Rejections We See Most Often

Most rejections are predictable and preventable. These are the ones that come up repeatedly.

Account deletion and privacy

Apps with account creation must offer in-app account deletion. This is a frequent, easily avoided rejection.

Privacy manifests and accurate data-collection disclosures are checked. Under-declaring gets caught, and it delays the release.

Sign-in requirements

Requiring an account to access features that do not need one draws a rejection. So does offering third-party sign-in without an equivalent privacy-preserving option where required.

Guest access for browsing solves most of these cases.

Incomplete review information

Demo credentials that do not work, or a build behind a feature flag reviewers cannot reach, produce an immediate rejection.

Provide working credentials, a short walkthrough note, and access to any gated features.

Where to go from here

If you are weighing store submission for an upcoming project, the useful next step is usually a short scoping conversation rather than a longer article. Bring your constraints — budget, timeline, existing systems, and the team you already have — and the decision usually resolves itself in an hour.

We run these as a fixed-scope discovery session with a written recommendation at the end, including the cases where our advice is that you do not need us.

Working on something like this?

Send us the brief. We will tell you what we would build, what we would cut, and roughly what it costs.
