Answer the question completely
Thin pages built to rank for a keyword no longer perform. Pages that answer the question thoroughly enough that the reader stops searching do.
Write for the person, then check the technical basics.
Technical basics still matter
Crawlability, fast pages, clean internal linking, and structured data are necessary conditions, not differentiators.
Fix these once, properly, then stop thinking about them.
Prune aggressively
Large volumes of low-quality pages can drag down a whole domain. Removing or consolidating them often improves overall performance.
Audit annually. Retire what has never earned a visit.
Where to go from here
If you are weighing content strategy for an upcoming project, the useful next step is usually a short scoping conversation rather than a longer article. Bring your constraints — budget, timeline, existing systems, and the team you already have — and the decision usually resolves itself in an hour.
We run these as a fixed-scope discovery session with a written recommendation at the end, including the cases where our advice is that you do not need us.
